{"id":2039,"date":"2022-07-18T08:23:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-18T08:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smeloans.com\/?p=2039"},"modified":"2024-02-20T08:24:49","modified_gmt":"2024-02-20T08:24:49","slug":"hsbc-challenger-kinetic-tops-2m-sme-loans-in-first-three-months-as-competition-in-space-heats-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smeloans.com\/index.php\/2022\/07\/18\/hsbc-challenger-kinetic-tops-2m-sme-loans-in-first-three-months-as-competition-in-space-heats-up\/","title":{"rendered":"HSBC challenger Kinetic tops \u00a32m SME loans in first three months, as competition in space heats up"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/hsbc\">HSBC&nbsp;<\/a>challenger bank Kinetic has lent over \u00a32m to SMEs in its first three months as an SME lender, as competition in the space heats up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/hsbc\">HSBC&nbsp;<\/a>launched its&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/article\/5942_hsbc-poised-to-launch-app-only-sme-bank-kinetic\">challenger mobile banking app two years ago<\/a>&nbsp;to take on the likes of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/natwest-group\">NatWest\u2019s<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/mettle\">Mettle&nbsp;<\/a>and challenger bank&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/tide\">Tide&nbsp;<\/a>in the SME banking space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u00a32m milestone reached by Kinetic follows Mettle&nbsp;putting out figures earlier this year showing a fivefold increase i<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/article\/9026_mettle\">n users since the start of 2021.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/tide\">Tide,<\/a>&nbsp;meanwhile, says it\u2019s hitting seven per cent of all UK SMEs, after adding&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/article\/8746_tide-says-its-now-hitting-seven-per-cent-of-uk-sme-market\">100,000 new members in 2021.<\/a>&nbsp;Others in the space include&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/starling-bank\">Starling&nbsp;<\/a>and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/companies\/cashplus\">Cashplus&nbsp;<\/a>Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kinetic began offering small business loans in April this year and says that it topped the \u00a32m loan mark across April, May and June this year.<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/article\/9555_hsbc-challenger-kinetic-tops-2m-sme-loans-in-first-three-months-as-competition-in-space-heats-up\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.altfi.com\/article\/9555_hsbc-challenger-kinetic-tops-2m-sme-loans-in-first-three-months-as-competition-in-space-heats-up<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HSBC&nbsp;challenger bank Kinetic has lent over \u00a32m to SMEs in its first three months as an SME lender, as competition in the space heats up.
